What causes an ACH deposit to be locked?
Tradovate uses a third-party system called Plaid to manage and perform ACH transfers between banks and Tradovate accounts.
In the event that Plaid is unable to verify a customer's bank balance at the time of a deposit to Tradovate, the deposit is held for a period of three business days before clearing in a customer's Tradovate account.
When does the hold period start?
The three-day hold begins at 5:00 PM Central on the day the transfer is processed.
For example, if you request a deposit before 1:00 PM Central on a Monday, it will be processed that same business day, and the three-day hold will start on Tuesday. Continuing with this example:
- Tuesday is Day 1
- Wednesday is Day 2
- Thursday is Day 3, and the funds will be available at 5:00 PM Thursday
If you submit a request for a deposit on a weekend, or after 1:00 PM Central on a business day, the deposit will be processed the next business day. The hold period will begin on the business day after your deposit request was processed.
For example, you request a deposit at 7:00 PM Central on Monday evening. The request is processed on Tuesday, and Wednesday will be day one of the hold period before the funds clear on Friday at 5:00 PM Central.
Where can I see when my deposit will be unlocked?
You can log into your Tradovate account's Application Settings and select the Transfers & Payments section:
Clicking Transfer History will show you a list of funds transfers with your account. Locate your most-recent deposit, and your deposit will clear three business days following the date of the deposit.
What time will my deposit be available after the hold period?
Your deposit will be available in your NinjaTrader account by 5:00 PM Central time on the unlocking day (three business days after the deposit was processed).
