Disable Alert Email Notifications

I understand that if you read the alerts in the platform within 5 minutes of receiving them, an email will not be sent. However, it would be nice if there was a checkbox available to disable alerts sent via email for those that are not read in time. I would prefer to keep all notifications within the platform.
