DOM Performance Enhancements - Release 1.200327.0
With the recent significant increase in volatility, we've taken the opportunity to further tune the performance of the DOM and introduce some additional features which will make using the DOM easier.
These changes have been added to the 1.200327.0 version.
The updates to the DOM in this version are:
3 notable changes:
-
When the last price scrolls out of the DOM, you will see an arrow appear pointing in the direction of the last price (much in the way our Pulse mobile app does today). When this happens, it will not auto recenter as before in 2 seconds. Rather, the timing of the recenter is: A 1-second timeout between when the last price went out of view and the directional arrow will start flashing. The directional arrow will flash for 2 seconds; warning the user that an auto-center is about to take place. After the 2 seconds of flashing the DOM will recenter. **But all these steps will start no earlier than 30 seconds after the mouse pointer is no longer over the DOM (or 30 seconds after the last interaction in touch devices).
-
The recenter also will not "snap" back to the center. Rather it will be a "scroll" back to the center.
-
Finally, If the mouse pointer is over the DOM ladder area, it will override any recenter activity, so, even if the 30 seconds (described in #1 above) have elapsed, if the mouse is over the DOM, it will not begin the recenter counter until the mouse is moved off the ladder.
**As always, if you would like to manually center the DOM yourself, click the "GO TO LAST" link at the bottom of the DOM below the price column
We have more enhancements coming which we have identified and will also be adding changes suggested by users. These will be announced as they are implemented.
Thanks again for your continued contributions and suggestions!

still hoping and praying for a static DOM. waiting patiently
no one needs to see the crazy moving price ladder of ES. no eye could see the flying numbers anyway
for entry that was set very far away from current price, it's a hassle to hunt the order again in the DOM when the price snapped back by itself
tks for considering
