The Lock Risk Settings feature will lock the Account Risk Settings until the end of the trading session. This is an extra layer of locking on an account to prevent adjustments to risk settings after they have been hit.
Once the lock has been enabled and the limit is hit, the Account Risk Settings will not be able to be changed until the end of the trading session and unlocks each day between 4:00 - 5:00 PM Central Time.
To enable this feature, navigate to Application Settings in the upper right-hand corner of your Tradovate platform:
Under the Accounts tab, click Risk Settings.
Enable one or more Account Risk Settings for the chosen account, then turn on the Lock Risk Settings if Hit toggle and press save.
If your risk limits are hit during the day, your account will be locked until sometime between 4:00 - 5:00 PM Central Time that day.
Please note that Tradovate's Support team is unable to unlock an account when its risk settings have been locked.
