Tradovate uses a third-party service called Plaid to link bank accounts to NinjaTrader accounts for deposits and withdrawals by ACH transfer. In instances where a bank account can't be verified by logging into an Online Banking account, customers can link their bank account manually.
Entering Your Bank Account Information
Log into your Tradovate Account and navigate to the Application Settings menu by clicking the blue icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen:
Then, select the Transfers tab and click Add ACH Account:
A pop-up will appear, and you will click Set up ACH automatically with Plaid:
After agreeing to Plaid's terms and conditions, select Manual on the next screen and click Continue:
Plaid will then guide you through a series of steps to manually enter your financial institution's Routing Number and your Account Number with your bank. Please note that the name on your bank account must match the name on your Tradovate account.
You will then authorize a deposit of $0.01 from Plaid to the account you just entered:
Along with the $0.01 deposit to your bank account, there will be a three-letter authorization code that will be displayed on the deposit entry with your bank:
Please check your bank statement or online banking information to find this code, as it will need to be entered on your Tradovate Application Settings to confirm the link between your accounts.
Verifying Your Bank Account Information
Verifying your bank account is a two-step process:
- Entering a Verification Code
- Uploading Verification Documents
Entering a Verification Code
After completing the process of manually entering your bank information, a $0.01 deposit will be made to that account. Here is an example of how the three-letter code will appear on your bank statement--note the three-letter code in the entry:
You will also receive an email with a link to enter this three-letter code into your Tradovate Application Settings.
Clicking the link in the email will take you to your Application Settings, where you will click the Verify Connection button.
Clicking the Verify Connection button will generate an email to your email address on file with a six-digit security code. Enter that code on the Tradovate website where it is requested.
After entering the security code, you will be taken to the Transfers section of your Application Settings Menu, where you will click Verify Plaid. Please note that until the linking process is finalized, the name of your bank will be hidden.
Finally, after clicking Verify Plaid, you will enter the three-letter code from your bank statement.
Uploading Your Verification Documents
After entering your three-letter verification code, you will receive an email with a link to upload a verification document. This is most-commonly a bank statement, and while the request typically is sent within an hour of submitting the three-letter verification code, it can take one to two business days to be generated.
To begin the uploading process, click the link in the email sent to you requesting the documents.
Clicking the link in the email will take you to a screen on your Tradovate Application Settings where you can upload your bank statement (or other verification document).
Once the documents have been reviewed and approved, you will receive a confirmation via email and your link will be ready to use for deposits and withdrawals via ACH.
Important Notes
ACH Deposits using a manually-linked bank account will be held for three business days after receipt of the deposit to clear.
For example, if you request a deposit on Monday before 1:00 PM Central, the deposit will reach your Tradovate account by Tuesday morning and be available by the end of the day on Thursday.
Please contact support@tradovate.com with any questions related to this process.
